Our tour guide will escort you to visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities which was built in 1902.
The Egyptian Museum exhibits an enormous amount of artifacts and treasures (exceeding 12,000 masterpieces) dating back to the ancient Egyptian period and Greco-Roman period including the remarkable collection of the child King Tut Ankh Amon.
After our trip to the Museum we will be visiting “The Citadel of Saladin Al Ayouby”. Built in 12th century to secure Cairo against the Crusaders. The Citadel was used as the seat of the King and his government in Egypt for many centuries and many dynasties including the Ayyubids, the Mamluks, and even some Ottomans ruled over Egypt from the Citadel.
The Great Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha which stands proudly on the highest point inside the courtyard of the Citadel of Saladin . This is one of Cairo’s famous landmarks featured in movies and pomes for centuries. This enormous space is accented with mammoth domes and minarets. The ceiling and walls on the interior of Mosque of Mohamed Ali Pasha are an aesthetic masterpiece with rhythmical calligraphy.
Then will moving to Khan el-Khalili, one of the oldest and most famous bazaars in the Middle East. Dating back to the 14th century, this bustling marketplace is a labyrinth of narrow alleys, historic mosques, and colorful stalls overflowing with traditional crafts, spices, jewelry, textiles, and souvenirs. As you wander through the crowded lanes, you’ll be enchanted by the lively atmosphere, street performers, and the aroma of local cuisine wafting from cafes and eateries. Khan el-Khalili is a sensory delight and a treasure trove of Egyptian culture, perfect for those seeking an authentic glimpse into Cairo’s rich heritage and vibrant local life.
